Goals

 

  1. Acquisition of new data retrieved by instruments able to detect in real time the presence of volcanic ash between Sicily and Malta.
  2. Laboratory analysis allowing to evaluete physical features of volcanic ash.
  3. Volcanic ash simulations able to forecast plume dispersal produced during explosive activity of Mt. Etna, Italy.
  4. Model validation through comparison with data retrieved by instruments operating in real time.
  5. Diffusion of the results to the both Italian and Maltese authorities.
